Nan has been well-recognized with awards/accolades, including the Leader of the Year in telecom, and one of the 100 Most Influential People in the Industry. In his past life, Nan was a record holder for pole vault at Beijing University.

After joining Hong Kong Telecom (HKT) in 1991, Frederick played senior roles in solutions design, product management, product development and marketing.

He worked as PCCW Global’s Senior Vice President of International Products and Solutions until 2008 and was responsible for all product management and development activities, while overseeing marketing and presales support operations all over the world. He then took on responsibility for sales and business development operations as Head of Eastern Europe, Mediterranean, the Middle East, Africa and Oceania.

Before joining HKT, Frederick developed products and solutions for a number of telecoms operators in Asia Pacific. He graduated from the UK’s University of Nottingham with a Bachelor of Engineering degree and holds an Executive MBA from The Chinese University of Hong Kong.

Andrew is a veteran technology executive with more than 30 years of experience in building telecommunications networks, switching platforms and services platforms. Prior to his CTO role, he served as CenturyLink senior vice president of technology planning, network architecture and security. He joined Level 3 in 1998 where he played an integral part in building its global network. He held various roles at Level 3 and was named its CTO in 2016.

Before joining Level 3, Dugan designed and built transport network support systems, enhanced voice services platforms and next generation voice switching networks for MCI WorldCom. He also worked for AT&T Bell Laboratories.

Dugan is an innovator with more than 20 networking patents. He holds a bachelor’s degree in computer science and electrical engineering from the University of Colorado and a master’s degree in computer engineering from the University of Michigan.

Mr. Hakl has also held leadership roles in Verizon’s Product and New Business Innovation, Global Operations, Sales Engineering and Information Technology organizations. Prior to joining Verizon, Mr. Hakl held positions in IT, strategy and product management at various communications companies around the world.

Prior to his current role, Kevin held the position of SVP & GM of New Business Solutions, leading the creating of Comcast Business Cloud Solutions environment and operations. A 20-year industry veteran, Kevin’s prior positions include leadership roles in sales, marketing, R&D, corporate strategy, and private equity. Kevin holds a BS in Mathematics/Computer Science and a MS in Information Networking, both from Carnegie Mellon University.

Prior to his current role, Roman was Senior Vice President, Offer Management & Service Integration where he was leading the development of industry leading SDN based offers and creating unique value propositions for the Business Market. In this role, his team was responsible for global business development, pricing, market analytics and service integration for the AT&T Business portfolio.

Roman has also previously served as Senior Vice President-Marketing & Global Strategy. In this role, he led the marketing functions including channel marketing, brand and product positioning, advertising, market analysis and global business development.

During his 20+ year career, Roman has held key leadership positions to drive innovation and performance across multiple disciplines including Sales, Product Management, Marketing, Systems Development, Engineering and Operations. He was a key architect for the Applications Services business. And, he served as Senior Vice President of Regional Marketing where he was responsible for developing and marketing services for the Small, Medium, Government, Education and Medical Markets.

Roman holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Rutgers University and a Master of Business Administration from the Wharton School of Business, University of Pennsylvania. He is married with three children and resides in Dallas.

Ralph’s team developed and is delivering Fujitsu’s SD-WAN-as-a-Service, an OTT subscription-based SD-WAN managed service. A founding member, regular contributor and mentor to several MEF projects, Ralph helped incubate MEF’s SD-WAN projects by writing MEF’s “Understanding SD-WAN Managed Services” paper and has provided significant contributions to accelerate the development of MEF’s SD-WAN Service Definition Technical Specification. He lectures on all MEF topics at industry events, contributed to 12 MEF whitepapers, and regularly briefs the press and analysts to evangelize the MEF’s latest work to advance the industry.

Mr. Strople has twenty-five years of experience in the telecommunications industry. He joined MTS Allstream in October 2005 and since then has served as Chief Technology Officer, Chief Operating Officer and President. Zayo acquired Allstream in January 2016.

He is a licensed Professional Engineer and holds a Bachelor of Applied Science in Electrical Engineering with an Option in Management Science from the University of Waterloo. He is currently Chair of the MEF and a member of the board of directors of the Liquor Control Board of Ontario, one of the world's largest single distributors and retailers of beverage alcohol.

He is responsible for the strategy, architecture and development of the network technologies enabling Colt software defined on demand network, the IT orchestration and monitoring capabilities and the management of the on demand product portfolio.

He joined Colt in 2002 and has held several senior leadership roles in the technical development and engineering areas. Previously Mirko served as VP Network Engineering, responsible for technical development of Colt services, and for the architecture of the Colt network.

Mirko has lead the contribution of Colt to the MEF standards throughout the years. He has been involved since the creation of the Carrier Ethernet 1.0 and 2.0 specifications and is a strong proponent of the MEF LSO architecture.

Mirko holds an MSc in Telecommunications Engineering from Politecnico of Milan.

Rami has consistently contributed to MEF over the last eleven years. Presently, he Co-Chairs the MEF Global Marketing & Education Committee as well as the 5G Focus Group. In addition, Rami serves as a Board Advisory Director.

Rami brings to the MEF a diversified leadership background in software architecture, product strategy, and business development. Recently, he supported the MEF’s evolution by promoting the current work to analysts, SDOs, open-source projects, and the general market. This effort has led to recruitment of new members, greater participation, and cooperation with other organizations.

Rami holds an MS in Computer Science and an MS in Electrical Engineering from the University of New Haven.

The job of the MEF Board is to continue to advise on a top-down vision of the industry and provide the environment necessary for MEF members to best extract value from their membership. Maintaining an organization that has a well-defined scope, clear rules for engagement and is focused on member-driven initiatives is key to success. While there have been bumps in the road getting there (as there will be when making an organizational pivot), the MEF now can demonstrate to the industry how standards and open-source work together to increase speed to market while providing consensus-driven internationally applicable technical specifications.

Jean-Claude Geha is Senior Vice President of International Services & Technology Delivery, Deutsche Telekom AG. As SVP, Jean-Claude is responsible for providing engineering services or shared services and for defining the requirements for access technologies like fiber. He is also accountable for delivering and operating E2E product components to the NatCos and ensuring the central delivery of products, platforms or IT-systems.
